Integrate OpendID (http://openid.net/) authentication. OpendID is getting more and more important, especially with the recent announcement of Microsoft to integrate OpendID 2.0 natively into Windows Vista.
Almost done, except for library conflict IIRC, and Gary wants to take care of it. We agreed in 20081104-meeting we would like it for 1.0. Not really sure OpenID finally went into Vista BTW! ;)
Correcting priority.
Status: The changes for using Xalan 2.7 have been made in the openxri source. I have got the two lots of source for openxri (trunk revision 256, the latest revision at the time) and openid4java svn repos, and have found that there is an incompatiblity in the source code when building openid4java - the Resolver.selectServiceFromXRD signature changed in r161. I am going to try building the source from before that change and see whether that solves both problems.
Okay, openxri r160 builds, but there is a test failure for the server jar. I don't think this is an issue as openid4java does not appear to use that, only the syntax and client jars. Open question: how stable is r160? Having copied the syntax and client jars into the openid4java lib directory, and removing the openxri v1.0.1 jars there, the openid4java builds and tests (i.e. 'ant test') fine.
As a reminder: this now builds, but fails when trying to log in.
Not brought up in 20090106-meeting, so delaying after 1.0. Any stacktrace you could post about the login failure?

if we are not able to fix it until the first release, then let's comment it (not remove) within the login screen
